Lauren Rodriguez is the co-founder of LOROD, a NY based clothing line that creates modular, modern interpretations of American classics. Emphasizing construction over ornament, a dedication to detail, and an inclination for the understated, LOROD believes utility can be refined, and the familiar can be alluring. Sofía Jiménez Marrufo studied Fashion and Creation at the Institute of Higher Education “Casa de Francia”, in Mexico City. In 2014 she participated as an exhibitor on the Who 's Next design platform in Paris, France, and in summer 2016 she obtained a diploma in Luxury Design at the Université d'Eté de la Mode and Modalyon in Lyon, France. She worked for the “1/8 Takamura” brand in Mexico City, first in the production area, and later as a design assistant until June 2018, when she decided to return to Oaxaca City to start her personal project, Marchanta.
Located in the heart of the city of Oaxaca, Marchanta is a space dedicated to promoting the work of 32 Latin American brands on style, well-being, art, textile, interior design, and beauty. Marchanta seeks to provide a unique experience for people to learn about new projects on contemporary design and lifestyle.
